About this project

REFramework is a comprehensive mod framework, scripting platform, and modding tool designed for games built on Capcom's RE Engine. It is inspired by and incorporates code from the Kanan project. The framework provides a wide range of features, including generic 6DOF VR support for all supported games, motion controls for specific titles, a Lua scripting API, and a plugin system. It also includes numerous built-in mods such as a free camera, FOV slider, ultrawide/aspect ratio fixes, and a GUI hider. Additionally, it offers fixes for specific game crashes and stutters, and developer tools like an object explorer. Installation is straightforward: for non-VR use, extract only the dinput8.dll into the game folder; for VR, extract the entire zip and install SteamVR or use OpenXR. Linux/Proton users can add a specific launch option. The framework supports both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 and is compatible with a wide range of RE Engine titles, including Resident Evil 2, 3, 4, 7, Village, Devil May Cry 5, Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Rise, Wilds, Dragon's Dogma 2, and many more.
