About this project
DLSS-Unlocked is a community-modding tool that unlocks NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation (DLSS-G), Multi-Frame Generation (MFG: 2x/3x/4x), and Neural Rendering (DLSS-NR) on any GeForce RTX GPU — including RTX 20xx and 30xx series — for any DirectX 12 game that natively supports DLSS2 and DLSS3. It also supports RTX 40xx GPUs via an optional Ada MFG unlocker.
The project builds on several upstream open-source efforts, notably OptiScaler-DLSSNR-PreSR-Multipass, dlssg_for_sm86, NVSmooth30, and DLSS Enabler. It provides a modular DLL-based injection approach rather than modifying games directly.
Two installation formats are offered: an automated Windows installer (.exe) and a standalone archive (.zip) suited for manual installs or Linux/Proton environments. On Proton, users add DLL overrides and environment variables to their launch options.
Supported GPUs:
- RTX 20xx/30xx (Turing/Ampere): enabled out of the box via the bundled native dlssg_sm86 unlocker
- RTX 40xx (Ada Lovelace): supported, with switching to the Ada MFG unlocker available via the in-game overlay or OptiScaler.ini
Known issues include potential overlay crashes on Linux/DX12 games (fixable by disabling the overlay menu), and strict integrity checks in Capcom RE Engine titles like Resident Evil Requiem, which require REFramework as a companion and recommend sticking to 2x Frame Generation for stability.
The project disclaims affiliation with NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, or game publishers, and advises against use in multiplayer games or titles with anti-cheat systems.
