About this project

3d-text-editor is a standalone Windows tool designed to transform flat text into dimensional 3D objects. It allows users to input strings and select installed TrueType/OpenType fonts, which the engine then converts into watertight 3D meshes. Key capabilities include: - Real-time extrusion with live bevel and depth adjustments. - Physically-based rendering (PBR) materials such as chrome, glass, and brushed metal. - Dynamic lighting rigs with presets for studio or neon setups. - Camera controls for orbiting, dollying, and keyframing turntable renders. - Non-destructive layering for stacking multiple text objects. - Export options for PNG stills (including transparent backgrounds) and 3D mesh files in OBJ and FBX formats. The application runs locally on the GPU/CPU using C++ and OpenGL, requiring Windows 10 or 11 and a DirectX 11 compatible GPU.
