The Open Siddur Project (AI aided version) is a work in progress tool for converting liturgical texts. It focuses on converting texts from various input formats to the JLPTEI schema (a simplified version 2) and then compiling JLPTEI to output formats such as PDF and TeX. Source texts are stored in the 'sourcetexts' submodule, and JLPTEI projects are in the 'opensiddur-projects' submodule. The tool includes specific importers for sources like the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC), JPS 1917, and Miqra al pi ha-Masorah. A reference database (SQLite) resolves URNs to project files and must be updated when projects change. The compilation process takes a JLPTEI file, resolves transclusions, annotations, and parallel texts, producing a single compiled XML file. This compiled XML can then be exported to TeX using the reledmac/reledpar pipeline and to PDF via LuaLaTeX. The schema is built from jlptei.odd.xml using a provided script. The code is licensed under LGPL 3+, while project texts and source texts have individual licenses as specified in their respective repositories.
