About this project

JEngine is a Unity-focused hot-update framework that lets developers push new C# scripts, assets, and game logic to already‑installed builds on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, WebGL, and various mini‑game platforms. Built on HybridCLR, it runs standard C# natively, delivering 10×+ performance over ILRuntime or Lua‑based solutions. The framework includes built‑in asset encryption (XOR, AES, ChaCha20) and code obfuscation via Obfuz, providing security not found in most hot‑update tools. A one‑click JEngine Panel automates code compilation, AOT metadata generation, obfuscation, encryption, and resource packaging. Optional packages add zero‑GC async tasks (JEngine.Util), UI components (JEngine.UI), and object pooling. The ecosystem integrates with YooAsset for resource management, UniTask for async workflows, Nino for serialization, and offers a Claude Code plugin for AI‑powered code generation. Over 1,000 games and 100+ companies use JEngine in production, and the project provides extensive documentation, a changelog, and community‑driven extensions such as MetaJUI and MetaExcelDataTool.
