About this project
Netcode for GameObjects (NGO) is Unity's official high-level networking SDK, designed to bring multiplayer capabilities to GameObject and MonoBehaviour-based projects. It sits atop low-level transport layers, including Unity's own Transport Package, and provides a user-friendly API for common networking tasks like spawning objects, RPCs, and state synchronization.
The repository contains the core package (com.unity.netcode.gameobjects) along with a test project for exercising features. It targets Unity 6 (LTS) and supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and most closed platforms (consoles) upon request.
Getting started is facilitated by the Multiplayer Docs Site and a quickstart guide. Community support is available via Discord and Unity Forums. The project is open-source and welcomes contributions, with guidelines and a public roadmap for upcoming features.
