About this project
Pakku is a free and open-source multiband transient shaper available for macOS and Windows, compatible with AU and VST3 plugin formats. It splits audio into three bands using a Linkwitz–Riley 4th-order crossover, allowing independent control over attack and sustain per band. Features include a tone section, parallel compression, and a ceiling stage (limiter or soft clipper) with linear-phase 4x oversampling. The interface supports single-band mode, draggable threshold controls, latency-compensated dry path, and three resizable UI layouts. It includes 31 factory presets in an open binary format, plus user preset support with automatic factory preset syncing. Installation packages are provided for both platforms, with detailed manual included. Source builds require CMake and C++20 compiler; macOS builds produce universal binaries. Tools for testing, rendering UI screenshots, and generating manual figures are included. Built on JUCE under AGPLv3 license. Created by Daniel Luiz Alves under Kyantech Labs.
