About this project
This is an open-source collection of home recipes specifically designed for the programmer community, maintained through a community-driven model. Because the project founder found that common recipes often suffer from vague descriptions, skipped steps, and a lack of alignment with programmers' reading habits, they organized common Chinese cooking methods in a clear, precise, and structured manner to lower the barrier to home cooking.
The project content covers ten major categories: vegetarian dishes, meat dishes, seafood, breakfast, staples, semi-finished products, soups and porridges, beverages, sauces and other ingredients, and desserts. It includes specific preparation steps for hundreds of home-cooked dishes, along with auxiliary content such as kitchen preparation, utensil cleaning, ingredient selection, learning various cooking techniques (such as blanching, stir-frying, steaming, de-odorizing, judging oil temperature, etc.), and advanced culinary knowledge, catering to both beginners and those looking to improve their skills.
Regarding usage, users can directly access the official online website to browse visual recipes, or use Docker to quickly deploy the recipe Web service locally for convenient offline use. The project operates under an open-source community model, and users are welcome to submit Pull Requests to contribute new recipes or correct existing errors to improve the recipe library together. Additionally, there are many derivative tools based on this project, such as AI private chef assistants, recipe decision tools, and immersive cooking apps, which further expand the usage scenarios of the recipes.
