About this project

patternsleuth is a test suite designed to identify robust patterns for locating common functions and globals in Unreal Engine games. It is intended for use with UE4SS, a tool for Unreal Engine reverse engineering and modding. ## Usage To use patternsleuth, place game executables into the `games` directory. The expected structure is a subdirectory per game containing the executable file, for example: ``` games ├── AstroColony │ └── AstroColony-Win64-Shipping.exe ├── FSD │ └── FSD-Win64-Shipping.exe └── TwinStick └── TwinStick-Win64-Shipping.exe ``` Then run the tests with: ```bash cargo run --release ``` The test suite will scan the provided executables and report which patterns are reliable across the tested games. ## Acknowledgements The project acknowledges contributions from several individuals who provided game samples, clean source builds with symbols, pattern seeds, and inspiration for string-based symbol resolvers.
