About this project

FireFlow is a digital instrument designed around the concept that modulation is the instrument. It features two symmetric parts, each driven by a performable modulation engine (SuperModulator) with five independent lanes that can operate as smooth LFOs (FLOW), stepped sequences (STEP), or evolving patterns (ENTROPY). Each part can be routed to various sound sources, including: - Polyphonic synth voices - Granular texture decks (supporting live input or samples) - WAVE: A PPG-style wavetable voice - BODY: A morphing resonator (string, piano, bell) - BBD: A bucket-brigade delay model - FEED: A ring of FM pairs The system includes a shared ambient reverb (Oliverb) and a phrase arranger (FORM/SONG) for managing melodic patterns. Currently, the project is available in two software forms: a desktop offline renderer for C++ testing and a beta VCV Rack plugin. A standalone hardware prototype based on the Daisy Patch Submodule is planned for a future milestone (M6), with the hardware panel design already implemented as a study within the VCV Rack version.
