Bus Channel Strip is a comprehensive audio processing plugin designed for master and stem buses, built with NIH-Plug and vizia in Rust. It consolidates multiple insert effects into a single interface, allowing users to construct a custom signal chain from seven reorderable modules plus a fixed final polish stage. The available modules include API5500 EQ for console-style tonal shaping, ButterComp2 (an Airwindows glue compressor) for cohesive dynamics, Pultec EQ for passive tube warmth, a 4-band Dynamic EQ with sidechain support, a Transformer module for vintage saturation, a Haas-based stereo widener, and a Punch clipper for loudness control. A unique 'Sheen' stage, pinned at the end of the chain, applies a research-grounded polish coat with body, presence, air, warmth, and width adjustments. The plugin features a modern GUI with native drag-and-drop reordering, focus mode, and live drop-position previews. All parameters are automatable with clean integer values, and the chain includes global bypass and RMS-based Auto Gain compensation for accurate A/B comparisons. The audio engine is optimized for real-time performance, ensuring allocation-free and lock-free processing. Available in VST3 and CLAP formats for Windows, macOS, and Linux, it offers extensive documentation and a roadmap for future improvements such as universal oversampling and linear-phase modes.
