About this project

FrostMod is a client-side toolkit for MX Bikes, with partial support for the other two PiBoSo sims (GP Bikes and Kart Racing Pro). One binary serves all three titles, selected with --game mxb / gpb / krp. Key features: - Live mod reload: drop a .pkz track, bike, or skin into the mods folder and it appears in-game without restarting. Trigger with R in the console or F8 in-game. - Server-browser spam filter: hides ad, cheat-shop, and ghost servers from your list. Purely client-side. Rules are configured in frostmod_serverfilter.yaml, and it can be disabled with --no-filter-servers. - In-game overlay: a small status hint showing FrostMod is live and reporting each reload. - Session block for MXB App: publishes which server you are on and rider positions so the companion app can set up peer-to-peer voice. - FrostServer: a server-side companion plugin for dedicated servers that publishes the current track and an mxb-mods.com download link over a small read-only HTTP API. A standalone frostserver.exe serves the same API for testing. Build requirements: Windows x64, Visual Studio Community 2026 with the Desktop development with C++ workload, and CMake. MinHook is fetched automatically. Outputs frostmod.exe and frostmod.dll, plus the frostserver companion files. Usage: run frostmod.exe, which waits for mxbikes.exe, injects frostmod.dll, and stays open as a console. It can also run as a PiBoSo plugin by placing frostmod.dlo in the game's plugins folder (or using --install-plugin), avoiding injection entirely. The README addresses antivirus false positives at length: because the tool injects a DLL and hooks game functions, heuristic engines may flag it, though it is open source under MIT and touches no files outside its own folder. Plugin mode is offered as an injection-free alternative. Binaries are not code-signed yet; signing via SignPath Foundation is planned. Troubleshooting covers injection access errors, missing log output, duplicate injectors, update failures while the game is running, and game detection. Full documentation is in docs/USAGE.md, docs/PLUGIN.md, and docs/FROSTSERVER.md.
