About this project
WorldEdit is an open-source Minecraft map editor that runs directly in-game, licensed under GPL v3. It provides tools for selections, schematics, copy and paste, brushes, and scripting, enabling players to edit maps in both creative and survival modes across single-player and multiplayer servers.
The project supports multiple modding platforms including NeoForge, Fabric, Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, and Sponge, requiring Java Edition. It can be used on servers to address griefing and correct building mistakes.
For developers, the repository contains the full Java source code and supports building from source using Gradle with Java 21 or later. The project integrates with IntelliJ IDEA for development and provides Gradle tasks (runClient and runServer) for launching a Minecraft instance with WorldEdit loaded for testing. Contributors can submit changes via GitHub pull requests following the guidelines in CONTRIBUTING.md.
End-user documentation, an issue tracker, a Discord community, and continuous integration builds are available through the project's official channels. Pre-built mod and plugin distributions are hosted on Modrinth for end users who do not need to compile from source.
