About this project

Magick.NET is the .NET binding for ImageMagick, the widely used image manipulation library. It allows C#/VB.NET/.NET applications to use ImageMagick functionality without requiring a separate ImageMagick installation on the server or desktop. Key points from the README: - ImageMagick supports over 100 major file formats (excluding sub-formats). - The library is tested on Windows, Linux and macOS, and is distributed as NuGet packages. - Both platform-specific packages (to reduce final application size when the target platform is known) and AnyCPU packages (for unknown targets) are offered. - Supported target frameworks: net8.0 and netstandard2.0. - Quantum variants are available: Q8, Q16, and Q16-HDRI, with optional OpenMP builds for parallel processing. - Platform-specific packages cover x64, arm64 and x86 across windows, linux, linux-musl and macOS, with varying coverage per package. - AnyCPU packages (Q8, Q16, Q16-HDRI) cover windows, linux, linux-musl and macOS. - Extra libraries include Magick.NET.Core (a dependency of the quantum packages), plus Magick.NET.SystemDrawing, Magick.NET.SystemWindowsMedia and Magick.NET.AvaloniaMediaImaging for integration with those frameworks. - Documentation with installation and usage examples is provided in the docs directory; cross-platform notes are in docs/CrossPlatform.md. - Every commit is built and tested via GitHub Actions, which also produces downloadable NuGet packages; these development builds are not recommended for production. - The project follows semantic versioning and is licensed under Apache 2.0. This is a developer library rather than an end-user application, aimed at .NET developers who need image processing capabilities in their software.
