This repository provides a developer-oriented example for accessing an Apify actor that exposes US Congressional Periodic Transaction Reports as clean, structured JSON. It covers both House and Senate financial disclosure filings under the STOCK Act, normalizing each disclosed transaction into a consistent row with member details, chamber, state and district, asset, ticker, transaction type, reported amount range, dates, ownership, and filing identifiers. The project includes a Python example using UV, an Apify API key configuration, and instructions for using the actor as an MCP tool in assistants such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Claude web, Cursor, and ChatGPT. Users can filter results by member first or last name, stock ticker, exact date, or date range, and control output size with Max_Results. The output preserves reported amount brackets exactly as filed, includes filing and document IDs for traceability, and adds per-run search metadata for audit trails.
