프로젝트 소개
The Water Quality Exchange (WQX) JSON Schema is a data standard implementation originally developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Geological Society (USGS). It serves as a JSON table schema transformation of the WQX XML standard, which is based on the ESAR (Environmental Sampling, Analysis and Results) data standard.
This project was initiated by The Gordon Foundation to support the DataStream platform, an online open-access system for sharing water quality data in Canada. The schema was adapted following a 2018 review process to better meet the needs of diverse water monitoring initiatives. The repository provides a comprehensive set of JSON schemas for various water quality data types, including projects, locations, activity metrics, biological data, habitat, instantaneous readings, and physical-chemistry parameters. It also includes tools for building and maintaining allowed values from EPA domain services.
