इस प्रोजेक्ट के बारे में

Prisma Next is a TypeScript rewrite of Prisma ORM, the popular data access layer for Node.js and TypeScript applications. Currently in Early Access, it reimagines the ORM experience with extensibility, composability, and AI-agent integration as core design principles. Supported Databases - PostgreSQL: General availability — the primary target - MongoDB: Early access, demonstrating the framework extends beyond SQL - SQLite: Proof of concept - MySQL: Planned for a later release Getting Started Developers can scaffold a new project with `npm create prisma@next` or add Prisma Next to an existing project using `npx @prisma/cli@next orm init`. The setup automatically configures `prisma.config.ts`, scaffolds starter contracts, installs the runtime, and registers AI agent skills. AI Agent Integration Prisma Next is built to work seamlessly with AI coding assistants. Both installers create a `prisma-next.md` primer at the project root and materialize skill files in `.claude/skills/` and `.agents/skills/` directories. AI agents like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot can read these skills to understand the project's data layer and drive changes end-to-end from natural language prompts. Extension System The ORM has a minimal core with everything built on a public SPI (Service Provider Interface). This allows any author to integrate custom databases, tools, or libraries. Shipping extensions include support for vector columns and semantic search (`pgvector`), typed full-text search with BM25 indexes (`paradedb`), geospatial types and queries (`postgis`), and searchable encryption. Prerequisites - Node.js 24 or newer - A package manager: npm, pnpm, or yarn License: Apache 2.0
