Drop Popup is a standalone Fabric client mod designed for Minecraft version 26.1.2, specifically tailored for Hypixel Skyblock players. Its primary function is to enhance the feedback loop when obtaining rare items by rendering a large, spinning 3D model of the dropped item directly over the player's crosshair. This visual aid includes a rarity-colored title and a particle burst to make significant drops more noticeable. The mod operates entirely on the client side, reading chat messages already received by the game client and drawing on the user's screen without sending any data back to the server. This ensures that it does not interfere with game mechanics or server integrity. It supports various drop types, distinguishing between standard rare drops, very rare drops, crazy rare drops, pet drops, and floor drops, each assigned a specific color based on its rarity (e.g., blue for Rare, purple for Epic, gold for Legendary, pink for Mythic). To accommodate different user preferences and hardware capabilities, the mod offers two animation styles. The default "ACTIVATION" style utilizes vanilla Minecraft's built-in item activation renderer, creating a polished effect similar to the Totem of Undying animation, which requires no custom render code. Alternatively, users can switch to the "SPIN" style, which implements a custom centered spinning model with an upward particle fountain. The mod intelligently maps Skyblock item names to vanilla item models to ensure the correct 3D representation appears, with fallbacks to a Nether Star for unrecognized items. Configuration options allow users to tune the duration of the popup, rotation speed, item size, and fade timings. A whitelist system ensures that only significant items trigger the popup, preventing spam from common rare drops like Enchanted Spider Eyes. The mod also supports texture packs like Catharsis and FurfSky by injecting the correct Skyblock IDs into the item stack's custom data, ensuring that custom textures are applied correctly to the 3D model. A test keybind (defaulting to the 'å' key) allows users to cycle through sample popups to preview different rarities and items without needing to farm.
