Sobre el proyecto

The Carbon Crediting Data Framework (CCDF) is an open-source initiative developed by the RMI Carbon Markets Initiative to harmonize the types, definitions, and formats of data related to carbon crediting projects on the voluntary carbon market (VCM). By integrating requirements from over 160 sources, the CCDF standardizes project data to help stakeholders assess carbon credits more transparently and efficiently. The framework is methodology-agnostic, covering 570 unique data fields organized into four tiers based on the crediting lifecycle: Pre-Registration, Forecast, Actuals, and Differentiators. It explicitly includes socio-environmental considerations, with a dedicated SECCDF subset for fields not directly tied to emissions accounting. The repository provides implementation resources including Excel spreadsheets, Markdown technical documentation, and JSON schemas to support both manual review and programmatic tool development. Files are versioned by date within the releases folder, and the project is licensed under the MIT License.
