Telegram Stremio is a self-hosted media server that converts Telegram channel files into permanent streaming links visible inside Stremio or Nuvio. Built on FastAPI, MongoDB, and PyroFork, it reads file names or captions you forward to designated channels, matches them against IMDb/TMDb databases, and presents organized catalogs with posters and episode breakdowns — all managed through a web panel. Core capabilities include automatic metadata retrieval from Cinemeta and TMDb, support for split and multi-part archive files (`.001`/`.002` volumes and `.zip` splits), subtitle attachment with language detection from filenames, and a flexible catalog system that auto-sorts content by language, platform, and ratings while also allowing hand-curated private or exclusive shelves. Access control is built in: each user receives a token, administrators can set subscriptions, and per-user settings let viewers choose quality preferences and hide or reorder catalogs. User activity tracking shows who is online, what is playing, and device metadata. Channel roles are separated — Auth channels are indexed, Manual channels handle personal uploads, an Anime channel enables anime-aware metadata matching, an Announcement channel posts new-content notifications with deep links, and a Skip channel collects files that fail indexing for later review. Global Search extends Stremio's search beyond the local library into live extra Telegram channels when a user session is connected. Deployment options include Docker on a VPS (recommended), Heroku, and Hugging Face Spaces. A companion Android app called TeleStremio provides a lighter single-user experience without external hosting. The project is open source and community-driven.
