vokoscreenNG is an open-source screencast creator for Windows and Linux. It records the entire screen, a selected area, or a window (window capture is noted as Linux only), and supports capturing audio from multiple sources. A built-in camera option lets you include a personal video overlay, and several helper tools are provided: system tray control, a magnifying glass, countdown, timer, Showclick and Halo effects. The project is translated into many languages through Transifex; only languages that reach 100% translation are added to the application, and new translations are included in the next bugfix release. The interface and documentation are in English. Installation is handled by distribution packages rather than a bundled installer. The README notes that Windows and Linux installation routines are not provided because each platform, installer and package manager has its own conventions; make-install, metadata, desktop files, icons, manpage and logo are expected to be supplied by the packager. The build steps are: clone or download the source and enter its directory, cd into src, run qmake6, then make. On Windows 10 64-bit, the README lists Qt 6.10.0 from the Qt Online Installer (including Qt Network Authorization and Qt Creator with CDB debugger support and Debugging Tools for Windows) plus the OpenSSL 1.1.1 toolkit with 64-bit binaries, and a GStreamer MSVC x86_64 package. Some older MinGW and vc_redist entries are marked obsolete.
