About this project

YoutubeDownloader is a cross-platform application that lets users download videos from YouTube via a graphical interface. Users can download content by pasting the URL of a video, playlist, or channel, or by searching with keywords. The app supports selecting video quality and format, automatically embedding subtitles and alternative-language audio tracks, injecting media tags, and logging in with a YouTube account to access private content. It relies on the YoutubeExplode library to interact with YouTube. Installation options include stable releases, CI builds, and community-maintained packages for Scoop and AUR. On macOS, users may need to remove the app from quarantine before launching. The project is in maintenance status and is community-funded.
