About this project

Comp AI is an open-core business compliance platform for companies managing security and privacy programs. The README identifies support for SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR, and describes features for automated evidence collection, policy management, and control implementation while allowing organizations to retain control of their data and infrastructure. A cloud-hosted version is also offered. The repository is a Bun- and Turborepo-based TypeScript project built with Next.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Tailwind CSS, Trigger.dev, Upstash Redis, Resend, and Vercel-oriented tooling. It includes multiple applications under apps/app, apps/portal, and apps/api, plus shared packages for database access, email templates, key-value storage, and UI components. Local development requires Node.js 20 or newer, Bun 1.1.36 or newer, and PostgreSQL 15 or newer. Setup involves copying environment files, configuring authentication and database secrets, connecting Google OAuth, Trigger.dev, Upstash Redis, and Resend, then starting PostgreSQL with Docker and running Prisma generation, migration, push, or seed commands. The development servers can be started with bun run dev or turbo dev. The project publishes @trycompai/db, @trycompai/email, @trycompai/kv, and @trycompai/ui to npm using semantic-release. Docker and Vercel deployment instructions are marked as coming soon in the README. Licensing follows an open-core model: the core repository is licensed under AGPLv3, while the /ee Enterprise Edition portion requires a commercial license.
