Algo VPN is a collection of Ansible scripts designed to simplify the deployment of a personal VPN server on popular cloud platforms. It focuses on security and privacy, using only modern protocols like IKEv2 and WireGuard with strong cryptographic defaults. The tool automates server setup, generates client configuration files and QR codes, and provides helper scripts for user management. It supports deployment to DigitalOcean, Amazon Lightsail, EC2, Vultr, Azure, Google Compute Engine, Scaleway, OpenStack, CloudStack, Hetzner, Linode, or your own Ubuntu server. Client setup guides are included for Apple, Android, Windows, Linux, and OpenWrt. Optional features include ad blocking via a local DNS resolver and SSH tunneling. The project emphasizes minimal logging and privacy enhancements, with logs automatically rotated and deleted after seven days. Algo is open source under AGPLv3 and accepts contributions and donations.
