About this project
Mouser is an open-source, fully local utility designed to replace Logitech Options+ for remapping Logitech HID++ mice. It requires no installation, telemetry, or cloud account. The app runs silently in the system tray and supports Windows, macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon), and Linux. Primary focus is on MX Master and MX Anywhere series, with visual overlays and full button remapping including gesture swipes, DPI adjustment, SmartShift toggle, and scroll inversion. Features include per-application profiles that auto-switch based on foreground app, custom keyboard shortcuts, and 40+ built-in actions like browser navigation, media controls, and desktop management. Device detection works over Bluetooth or Logi Bolt; reconnects automatically after sleep or disconnect. Config is stored locally as JSON. Linux users must run a permissions script once. Limitations include conflicts with Logitech Options+, partial Wayland support, and global profile mappings (not yet per-device). Roadmap includes more device overlays, true per-device configs, dynamic button discovery, and plugin support. Built with Python and Qt, source available for contributors. No admin rights required, though elevated mode may be needed for some apps. License: MIT.
