FreeFrame is a collaborative, self-hosted alternative to platforms like Frame.io, built for production houses and creative teams. It enables users to review video, image, and audio assets with frame-accurate commenting, annotations, and approval workflows. Key features include: - Video review with HLS adaptive streaming and frame-accurate timecoded comments. - Ability to export comments directly to NLEs like DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere Pro. - Version comparison tools for side-by-side or wipe-based analysis of different media cuts. - Role-based team collaboration and secure, password-protected share links for external clients. - Full white-labeling capabilities to customize branding for workspaces and emails. - Self-hosted deployment via Docker Compose, supporting S3-compatible storage and automated SSL via Traefik. The platform is built using a modern stack including Next.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Redis, with FFmpeg handling media transcoding. It is designed to be easily deployed on private servers or cloud VMs, ensuring full control over data privacy and storage.
