Amaze File Utilities is an Android app from the TeamAmaze project for viewing, organizing, analyzing, and cleaning files on internal storage. It is described as an open-source, ad-free alternative to Google Files. Storage analysis features can identify junk files, similar images, memes, low-light or blurred photos, selfies, large files, duplicates, hidden files, old downloads, recordings, screenshots, APK files, and cluttered videos. It can also group installed apps by usage, size, games, data consumption, or growth, and show apps associated with WhatsApp or Telegram media. Additional cleanup options include removing junk data from uninstalled apps, clearing RAM, and compressing media. The media browser supports list and grid layouts, sorting, searching, deletion, sharing, location navigation, date jumping, built-in playback, TV casting, and image or video compression. Included media components cover: - Music player with shuffle, repeat, waveform display, playback speed and pitch controls, playlists, and online lyric search. - Video player with gesture controls for seeking, volume and brightness, background playback, picture-in-picture, orientation and gesture lock, subtitle search and download, aspect-ratio controls, pitch and speed adjustment, and video compression. - Image viewer with sharing and deletion, plus an editor for stickers, text, rotation, cropping, drawing, metadata viewing, histograms, and compression. - Document viewer for PDF, EPUB, DOCX, XPS, OXPS, CBZ, FB2, and MOBI files, with text search, PDF dark/light mode, and EPUB bookmarks. The app can transfer data between devices over Wi-Fi peer-to-peer using Android Wi-Fi Direct. It also includes a trash/recycle bin with retention rules based on file count, age, or size, allowing restoration or permanent deletion. Downloads are offered through F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, Google Play, and GitHub releases. The README states that the app is trial-based and requires a nominal donation to unlock the full version. Contributions through translation and code are welcome. Amaze File Utilities is licensed under GPLv3 or later, with vendor preinstallation permitted when license terms are followed.
