Forge is an AI-powered terminal development environment and pair programming agent. It integrates large language models (LLMs) directly into the terminal to assist developers with a wide range of coding tasks. It supports multiple providers, including Claude, GPT, O Series, Grok, Deepseek, and Gemini. The tool offers three distinct modes of interaction: 1. **Interactive Mode (TUI)**: A persistent terminal UI for conversational, multi-step coding assistance. 2. **One-Shot CLI Mode**: Allows running single prompts and exiting, perfect for scripting or quick queries. 3. **ZSH Plugin Mode**: Integrates via a `:` prefix system, enabling fast in-shell commands for prompts, commits, and conversation management without leaving the shell. Forge includes specialized agents for different tasks: `forge` for implementation, `sage` for research and code understanding, and `muse` for planning. It supports features like code explanation, debugging, refactoring, database schema design, and git operations. Additionally, it provides semantic search capabilities through workspace indexing and supports custom skills and agents for extensibility. Installation is straightforward via a curl script, and configuration is managed through interactive provider login or a `forge.yaml` file.
