sway

Sway is a Wayland compositor designed for compatibility with the i3 window manager. Existing i3 users can copy their configuration to ~/.config/sway/config and use it with Sway; new users can start from the sample configuration, usually installed at /etc/sway/config. Configuration details are available through man 5 sway. It can be installed through the "sway" package in many Linux distributions, or compiled from source using Meson and Ninja. Build dependencies include wlroots, Wayland, wayland-protocols, pcre2, json-c, Pango, and Cairo. Optional dependencies add features such as extra image formats for the system tray, wallpaper support through swaybg, man pages with scdoc, and Git version information. Sway is launched by running sway from a TTY or a display manager. The project provides a FAQ, an IRC channel on Libera Chat, and GitHub releases signed with the published project key.
