muffon

muffon is a free, open-source desktop application for music streaming and discovery built with Vue and Electron. It aggregates audio, video, and metadata from multiple online sources including Bandcamp, SoundCloud, YouTube Music, VK, Odnoklassniki, and Last.fm (Spotify and Yandex Music integrations are currently not working). Video content comes from YouTube and YouTube Music, while lyrics are fetched from Genius and MusixMatch. Discography data is sourced from Discogs and MusicBrainz. Key capabilities include: browsing artists, albums, and tracks with similar-item suggestions; a queue with shuffle/loop; a personal music library with import from service accounts; Last.fm scrobbling and Spotify integration; recommendations based on your library; multi-source search across artists, albums, tracks, lyrics, tags, and videos; radio stations by tag, artist, or top charts; Discord Rich Presence with button customization; video playback with related channels and playlists; synchronized lyrics with annotations; top charts by country; new and upcoming releases; multi-tag search; playlists, favorites, bookmarks, and history tracking; social features like posting, following, messaging, feed, and communities; sharing of any entity; and theming with dark mode, background images, and transparency. The client runs on Windows 10/11 (x64), macOS (x64, arm64), and Linux (x64, arm64). It requires no account for basic use, though logging in unlocks additional features such as library import and scrobbling. The project explicitly avoids premium-account usage and does not provide a download function, positioning itself as a discovery tool rather than a piracy enabler. Localization is available in 14 languages. Development follows a no-AI policy for contributions.
