About this project

EOLab provides a collaborative environment for Earth observation data exploration. It transforms folders of geospatial files into a searchable catalog, allowing users to build maps, inspect features, and share specific views via links without requiring desktop GIS software or user accounts. Key capabilities include: - Catalog Management: Search datasets by filename, path, date, or type (raster/vector) with support for filters like Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFs (COG). - Map Visualization: Layer management with custom styling for rasters (color ramps, opacity) and vectors (categorical, graduated numeric classes, and labels). - Geospatial Analysis: Pixel sampling for rasters with 1D and 2D histogram distributions, and attribute inspection for vector features. - Data Plotting: Ability to graph numeric attributes from a single feature or compare one field across multiple features. - Collaboration: Share map configurations (layers, styles, viewport) via compressed URL fragments. - Data Integration: Supports read-only data directories for GeoTIFFs, Shapefiles, and GeoPackage layers, with a scanning mechanism to update the catalog.
