About this project
SpotX is a patcher tool designed for the official Spotify desktop client on Windows (versions 7 through 11). It requires the official desktop version of Spotify (not the Microsoft Store version) and PowerShell 5.1 or above.
Key features of SpotX include:
- Blocking all banner, video, and audio ads within the client.
- Optionally hiding podcasts, episodes, and audiobooks from the homepage.
- Blocking Spotify's automatic updates.
- Disabling analytics sending.
- Modifying certain native experimental features.
The tool offers multiple installation options:
- **Usual Installation (New Theme):** Activates the new theme with sidebar changes and includes experimental features.
- **Usual Installation (Old Theme):** Forces installation of version 1.2.13 to restore the old theme and blocks updates automatically.
- **Full Installation:** A non-interactive setup that activates the new theme, hides podcasts, applies a static theme for lyrics, hides ad-like sections, removes Spotify MS if found, installs the recommended Spotify version, blocks updates, and sets the client to autorun.
- **Premium Installation:** Designed for premium users, blocking only audio ads in podcasts while keeping the interface mostly intact.
- **Custom Parameter Installation:** Users can specify various parameters for a highly flexible setup.
Uninstallation is straightforward, either by running the provided Uninstall.bat script or by completely reinstalling Spotify. SpotX is provided as an evaluation tool and should be used at the user's own risk.
