About this project

spotDL is a command-line music downloader that allows users to download songs from Spotify playlists by sourcing the audio from YouTube. It automatically embeds album art, lyrics, and metadata into the downloaded files. Key capabilities include: - Downloading songs from Spotify URLs. - Syncing local directories with Spotify playlists to add new songs or remove deleted ones. - Saving metadata without downloading audio files. - Updating metadata for existing song files. - A limited web interface for downloading individual songs. The tool requires FFmpeg for audio processing and recommends Deno to ensure compatibility with certain YouTube videos (such as those marked "made for kids"). It is designed to download the highest available bitrate from YouTube.
