Home Assistant Astronomy Space Suite (ASS) is a fully isolated integration that provides a complete set of tools for monitoring space and astronomy data. It integrates data from NASA, NOAA, and other sources to provide real-time information on space weather, celestial bodies, and satellite positions. Key capabilities include: - Sensors: Over 250 sensors covering NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD), Near Earth Objects (NEO), Coronal Mass Ejections, Solar Flares, Geomagnetic Storms, ISS position, and local calculations for Sun, Moon, and planetary ephemeris. - Cameras: Seven integrated camera feeds including EPIC Earth, GOES-16/18, Himawari-8, SDO Sun, and SOHO Sun. - Custom Lovelace Cards: 15 specialized visualization cards, including a real-time heliocentric orrery, an ISS tracker with an SVG world map, a 3D interactive sky dome, and a polar projection sky map for deep-sky objects. - Deep-Sky Tracking: A curated catalog of 30 Messier/NGC targets with local calculations for altitude, azimuth, and visibility. The integration is designed for isolation, using namespaced entity IDs and Shadow DOM elements to avoid interfering with existing Home Assistant configurations. It supports installation via HACS or manual setup.
