About this project
Radar is an open-source Kubernetes user interface that runs as a single binary, requiring no cluster installation, account, or cloud sync. It connects directly to the Kubernetes API from a laptop or can be deployed in-cluster via Helm for shared team access. The tool provides real-time views powered by informers and SSE, including an interactive topology graph, a resource table with smart columns and custom labels, an image filesystem viewer, a unified event timeline, Helm release management with revision diffs and rollback, side-by-side resource comparison, TLS certificate expiry tracking, GitOps monitoring for ArgoCD and FluxCD, live traffic visualization using Hubble, Istio, Caretta, or Beyla, workload metrics from Prometheus-compatible backends, and read-only capacity diagnosis for Karpenter fleets. It also includes a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that allows AI agents to inspect, investigate, and operate clusters through Radar. Security features include optional authentication modes (proxy, OIDC), RBAC-scoped permissions for in-cluster deployments, and a private-by-design architecture that keeps cluster data on the user's machine. Installation options include a quick curl script, Homebrew, Krew, Scoop, PowerShell, direct downloads, and a desktop app for macOS, Linux, and Windows. The project is licensed under Apache 2.0 and supports all conformant Kubernetes clusters, including GKE, EKS, AKS, minikube, kind, and k3s.
