About this project

This repository is a curated list of useful Quick Look plugins for macOS, aimed primarily at developers. Quick Look is the macOS feature that lets users preview files by pressing the spacebar in Finder, and these plugins extend that functionality to additional file types. The list includes plugins for previewing plain text files without extensions (QLStephen), Markdown files (QLMarkdown, FluxMarkdown, Markdown Preview), JSON files (QuickLookJSON), archives (BetterZipQL, Folder Preview, Folder Quick Look), Apple installer packages (Suspicious Package), macOS app contents (Apparency), video files (QLVideo), source code with syntax highlighting (Source Code Preview, SourceCodeSyntaxHighlight, Peek), iOS/macOS provisioning profiles (ProvisionQL), WebP images (WebP), chemistry file formats such as PDB and SDF (Burrete), and 3MF 3D-printing models (Preview3MF). Installation instructions are provided for both Homebrew and manual installation. The README also includes notes for macOS Catalina and later, where users may need to remove the quarantine attribute from plugins to get them working. Some plugins are paid apps available on the Mac App Store, while others are open source and freely downloadable. The repository is maintained as an "awesome" list and is released under the CC0 license.
