talos

Talos Linux is a modern operating system built specifically for running Kubernetes clusters. It is designed to be secure, immutable, and minimal, reducing the attack surface and eliminating configuration drift. All system management is performed through a secure API using mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication, with no shell or interactive console available. Key benefits include enhanced security through a hardened and minimal design, predictability via immutable infrastructure and atomic updates, and evolvability by simplifying architecture and always delivering current stable Kubernetes and Linux versions. The project is fully open source, production-ready, and supported by Sidero Labs. Documentation for deployment and management is available at docs.siderolabs.com/talos. Community support is provided through GitHub Discussions, a Slack channel, and monthly office hours meetings. Contributions are welcomed following the guidelines in CONTRIBUTING.md.
