About this project
ShipThis is a command-line tool for building and publishing Godot games to mobile app stores. It targets Godot 3.6 and 4.x projects and produces Android APK/AAB and iOS IPA binaries, then submits them to Google Play or TestFlight/App Store Connect.
Key capabilities described in the README:
- Builds iOS and Android binaries for Godot games, including C# games (Godot 3.6 with Mono, Godot 4.3+ with .NET).
- Publishes to the App Store and Google Play once configured.
- Manages signing material automatically: Android keystores, Google Play service account API keys, iOS distribution certificates, App Store Connect API keys, and provisioning profiles.
- Runs iOS builds on managed macOS cloud servers, so a local Mac is not required for building (an Apple Developer account is still needed to publish).
- Offers free cloud builds during open beta, stated to remain free for most solo developers.
Typical workflow: install via npm (`npm install -g shipthis`), log in, run `shipthis game wizard android` or `shipthis game wizard ios` inside a directory containing project.godot, then publish with `shipthis game ship`. The wizard chains individual commands that can also be run separately, covering game creation, keystore or certificate creation, API key setup, app creation, capability syncing, tester addition, and profile creation.
Additional features noted:
- Builds can be produced with demo credentials and downloaded as APK, AAB, or IPA without an Apple or Google account.
- The build server generates a valid export_presets.cfg if none is supplied, and merges values from a provided one.
- CI/CD support via API keys exposed as the SHIPTHIS_TOKEN environment variable, plus an official GitHub Action.
- Debugging aids: `--follow` for live logs and `--verbose` for detailed output; logs also available in a web dashboard.
- Liquid Glass icon support for iOS, applied to local exports or cloud builds.
- Credential handling described as short-lived signed URLs, ephemeral build environments, private storage, and audit logging; uploaded files and build outputs retained for 30 days.
Supported Godot versions span 3.6 through 4.7, with some custom builds maintained to meet Android SDK 35 and 16 KB page size requirements. The project is in open beta.
