About this project

GodotHub is a desktop application for managing Godot Engine projects, versions, templates, and Git repositories in one place. It is built with Tauri 2 (Rust backend) and React 19 + TypeScript on the frontend, and ships as prebuilt binaries for Windows, macOS, and Linux, plus winget and Scoop packages. Project management: create projects from scratch or templates, import existing folders, or clone from a Git repo. Projects can be pinned, tagged (tags sync with project.godot), reordered by drag and drop, filtered and sorted, and operated on in batches. The app flags missing or mismatched Godot versions, shows a file breakdown by type, supports custom launch arguments, and offers quick actions such as opening the folder, an external editor, or a terminal. Version management: browse official Godot builds from GitHub filtered by platform, download and install with progress, resume, and configurable concurrency (up to 10), import existing installs or .zip archives, group versions by major.minor, filter by build type and channel, rename versions, pin a current version, and create version aliases. A pinned version also produces a stable Godot launcher path for scripts and tooling. Templates: save any project as a reusable template, create new projects from templates, preview template contents, and auto-import templates from a watched scan directory. Git integration: view branch and repo status, stage and unstage files, commit with optional amend, push/pull/fetch, manage branches, use stashes, view inline diffs, discard changes, initialize repos, set remotes, and undo the last commit or pull. Git status refreshes periodically. Other features include multiple workspaces with custom icons and colors, customizable categories, an RSS news feed, extensive appearance settings (dark/light mode, accent and background colors, corner radius, UI density, font scale, reduced motion), storage scan configuration, file watchers, tray menu with recent projects, command palette, onboarding wizard, auto-updates, changelog viewer, and keyboard shortcut reference. Settings can be exported and imported as JSON. The README notes that parts of the codebase were restructured with AI assistance and that all changes are reviewed and tested by the maintainer; contributors may use AI but pull requests are manually reviewed. The project is MIT licensed.
