About this project

disCoverJ is a specialized utility designed to simplify the process of managing metadata for audio collections by automatically embedding cover images into music files. The tool supports a wide range of audio formats, including MP3, MP4, M4A, M4R, OGG, OGA, FLAC, WMA, RA, and OPUS. To ensure accurate image retrieval, disCoverJ integrates with multiple search engines and databases, including iTunes, Deezer, SearX, Discogs, Spotify, Musicbrainz, and local search options. This allows users to maintain visually consistent and well-organized media libraries without manual intervention. The project is built using Java and leverages libraries such as jaudiotagger for audio manipulation. It also provides development guidelines for code formatting using Prettier with a Java plugin, ensuring consistent code style across the repository. Users can download the tool, contribute through issue tracking and discussions, or assist with translations via Crowdin.
