Nano Emacs (GNU Emacs / N Λ N O) is a collection of configuration files for GNU Emacs intended to give the editor a clean and consistent look and feel. It is based on design principles described by the author in the article "On the design of text Editors" (arXiv). The light theme draws on Material colors and the dark theme on Nord colors. The stated philosophy is to stay as close as possible to vanilla Emacs, avoid introducing many dependencies (ideally none), and remain modular so users can copy only the parts they want into their own configuration. The project is described as closely related to the author's earlier Elegant Emacs, which is presented as an early prototype.
