restate

Restate is an open-source platform designed to simplify building resilient applications. It provides distributed durable versions of common building blocks, enabling use cases such as durable AI agents, workflows-as-code, microservice orchestration, event processing, async tasks, and stateful actors. The core primitives include reliable execution with retries and durable execution, reliable communication with exactly-once semantics, durable promises and timers, consistent key-value state for stateful entities, suspending user code for long-running operations, and built-in observability with UI and CLI introspection plus OpenTelemetry traces. Restate supports SDKs for TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, Python, Go, and Rust. Installation options include Homebrew, npx, Docker, and pre-built binaries for macOS and Linux. The project follows semantic versioning and provides automatic data migration for minor upgrades. Community support is available via Discord, Slack, and GitHub.
