About this project
ReactiveUI is a composable, cross-platform model-view-viewmodel (MVVM) framework for all .NET platforms, inspired by functional reactive programming. It helps you abstract mutable state away from your user interfaces, express feature logic in a single readable place, and improve application testability.
Supported platforms include WPF, WinForms, WinUI, .NET MAUI, Avalonia, Uno Platform, Blazor, and Android (AndroidX). The framework ships in two interchangeable distributions with an identical public API, both built on the ReactiveUI.Primitives engine: a default distribution that drops the System.Reactive dependency for a smaller closure and better trimming/AOT support, and a `.Reactive` family that provides drop-in interop with existing System.Reactive code.
Key packages:
- `ReactiveUI` – core framework for .NET Standard
- `ReactiveUI.SourceGenerators` – generates boilerplate code
- `ReactiveUI.Testing` – unit testing support
- Platform-specific packages: `ReactiveUI.WPF`, `ReactiveUI.WinForms`, `ReactiveUI.WinUI`, `ReactiveUI.Maui`, `ReactiveUI.AndroidX`, `ReactiveUI.Blazor`, `ReactiveUI.Uno`, `ReactiveUI.Avalonia`
- `ReactiveUI.Validation` – user input validation
- `ReactiveUI.Extensions` – additional utilities
The project is part of the .NET Foundation and is licensed under an OSI-approved open-source license. Samples are available in the `src/examples/` directory demonstrating login forms, routing, suspension, and network sync across platforms. The framework supports .NET 9 and .NET 10 for MAUI platforms, while non-MAUI `net8.0` library targets remain fully supported.
