About this project
Discord-Bot (pr0-dev/discord-bot) is a Discord bot that renders links to pr0gramm in Discord channels as embeds: linked uploads, users, and comments are detected and displayed with a preview.
The bot can be invited to a Discord server via an invite link or self-hosted. Self-hosting requires Node.js, cloning the repository, npm install, and a config.json based on the included config.template.json; it is started with npm start. If no user bot is used, the bot prompts for a captcha in the terminal on first login, so console access and a terminal with at least 255 colors are required.
Configuration includes, among other things: the Discord bot token, the displayed bot status, suppressing NSFW previews in channels without NSFW permission, disabling NSFL previews, deleting the original user message after embedding, and embedding direct pr0gramm links. For pr0gramm content that requires login (NSFW/NSFL/NSFP), a pr0gramm username, password, and a User-Agent are specified. According to the README, the linked bot always corresponds to the latest version of the repository.
The project is, according to the README, no longer officially maintained: new link forms (pr0.app) and profile pictures in the user embed are not supported, and the Discord.JS version used is outdated. Pull requests are still reviewed and the bot continues to be hosted, but new features are no longer developed. Feature requests and bugs can be reported via GitHub issues.
