About this project

This is a plugin for FilePond, a JavaScript file upload library. It automatically calculates and adds cropping information to files dropped into FilePond, based on the input image's dimensions and a configured crop ratio. The plugin does not perform cropping itself. Instead, it computes crop metadata that other plugins consume: the Image Preview plugin uses it to display the correct preview, and the Image Transform plugin uses it to transform the image before upload to the server. Key points: - Works with FilePond's plugin architecture and is published on npm as filepond-plugin-image-crop. - Crop ratio is configurable; crop data is derived from each image's actual dimensions. - Intended to be paired with the image preview and image transform plugins for a complete crop-preview-upload workflow. - Documentation and a live demo are linked from the repository and the project site. Suitable for web developers building image upload interfaces who need consistent aspect-ratio cropping without writing their own crop-calculation logic.
