About this project
The Construct provides a secure, disposable environment for running AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Opencode. Designed primarily for Windows users with Hyper-V capabilities, it creates an isolated Ubuntu virtual machine that acts as a sandbox between the AI agents and the host PC. This architecture ensures that agents can operate with full root privileges and bypass permission prompts without risking the host system.
Key features include:
- **Sandboxed Execution**: Agents run in a throwaway Hyper-V VM, preventing any direct interaction with the host operating system.
- **Disposable & Reusable**: The VM and agent configurations are designed to be reinstalled easily, with project profiles allowing automatic restoration of repositories, SDKs, and MCP servers.
- **Agent Support**: Native support for Claude Code, Codex, and Opencode, which run in bypass mode for seamless operation.
- **Remote Access**: Supports various connection methods including VS Code Remote-SSH, T3 Code integration, browser-based VS Code, and file sharing via SMB.
- **Flexible Deployment**: Can run locally on a single machine or be deployed on a shared Hyper-V host for multi-user remote access.
- **Integrated Client**: Includes a patched version of T3 Code with voice input, session resume, and Construct-specific controls.
Installation is streamlined via a PowerShell one-liner that automates the creation of an Ubuntu autoinstall ISO, VM setup, and agent provisioning. The tool also offers a Windows tray companion app for managing settings, lifecycle events, and port forwarding. Documentation covers installation, provisioning, remote hosting, and troubleshooting.
