About this project

This independent, community-driven plugin brings Apple Reminders directly into Codex, allowing users to ask the AI assistant to show what’s due, add reminders from conversation notes, update them, or mark them complete – all on a Mac. It works entirely locally, using a bundled, signed and notarized helper, and requires no Xcode or Apple Developer membership. The plugin is pinned to release v0.5.2, which ships 15 tools including experimental native URL attachment support. Core workflows include converting meeting notes into reminders, moving tasks between lists, and checking due dates. The plugin needs macOS 14 or later, Python 3.11+, and the Codex application. Setup is a two-command marketplace installation, and after a permission prompt, you can interact naturally. The toolbox is designed to verify changes, and partial successes are reported so you can ask Codex to re-check before retrying. Advanced features such as native tags, sections, image attachments, and Recently Deleted recovery have documented limits. Upgrades and uninstallation are straightforward commands that leave Apple Reminders data intact. Detailed troubleshooting, architecture, and product direction are available in the repository’s documentation.
