About this project
Animeko (formerly Ani) is a danmaku-enabled anime tracking application that integrates episode discovery, progress sync, and playback, built with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Key features:
- Anime info and community ratings: browse anime metadata and scores from Bangumi.
- Search: new anime schedules and tag-based search, provided jointly by Bangumi and the Animeko backend.
- Cloud sync: Bangumi-backed viewing records auto-update after playback; resume from where you left off.
- Aggregated sources: multiple video sources including BitTorrent, Jellyfin, Emby, and custom sources; danmaku aggregated from弾弾play and Animeko's own servers.
- Offline caching: all sources are cacheable.
- UI customization: themes, danmaku settings, media preferences; tablet and large-screen optimized.
Under the hood, Animeko uses libtorrent for the BT engine, a high-performance弹幕 engine with公益性弹幕服务器, ExoPlayer on Android and VLC on PC. Built-in sources include动漫花园 and Mikan, plus a custom源编辑器 and auto-selector.
All video content comes from external sources; Animeko stores no video data itself. BT traffic is P2P with automatic seeding. Online sources use creamycake ani-subs.弹幕 posted in-app are bound to Bangumi usernames to prevent abuse.
