About this project

Mnemo is a desktop study application built with Photino X and .NET 10, designed for students, researchers, and lifelong learners. It combines notes, flashcards, mind maps, and progress tracking in one local-first tool with no accounts, ads, or tracking. The interface uses React and TypeScript, while the backend runs on .NET with SQLite storage. Key features include a block-based notes editor with rich text, math, code, images, callouts, columns, page links, tabs, and find-and-replace. Notes export to Markdown, PDF via a bundled Typst compiler, or portable .mnemo packages. Flashcards support classic and cloze cards, decks and folders, FSRS scheduling, and a self-graded test mode. Decks can import and export through Anki packages, CSV, and .mnemo packages. Mind maps run on an infinite canvas with nodes, shapes, text, images, frames, layout algorithms, custom edges, reusable styles, and a minimap, with export to PNG, SVG, or Markdown outline. A configurable Overview dashboard provides widgets for activity, recent notes and decks, study goals, usage, memory, and testing. The app includes light and dark themes, remappable shortcuts, global search, notification history, and interface support for English, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Norwegian Bokmål. Data remains portable through multiple export formats, and the application database and managed files stay in the local application data directory. Backups can be created from Settings, and a manual backup option is available. Mnemo is currently in 0.8.0 beta. Windows 10 and 11 x64 builds are the most stable, macOS Apple silicon builds are tested and signed from 0.8.1-nightly.5, and Linux x64 is a first preview.
