About this project
ObjectStack is an Apache-2.0 platform for building applications from typed metadata rather than hand-written framework code. It defines objects, fields, views, flows, permissions, and actions as Zod/TypeScript schemas, then derives a database, REST API, client SDK, UI, and MCP server from that single definition. The project is designed around AI-assisted development: agents author and modify the metadata, while validation gates catch errors before runtime. The runtime enforces RBAC, row-level and field-level security, and audit logging. It supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, MongoDB, Turso, and in-memory datasources, and includes automation flows, approvals, dashboards, realtime events, webhooks, and connectors for REST, OpenAPI, MCP, and Slack. A CLI provides scaffolding, validation, compilation, and deployment commands, and the platform can be self-hosted with Docker. The repository includes a microkernel architecture with plugins for auth, security, sharing, email, and knowledge/RAG, plus example apps such as a CRM and todo application.
